Phone Not Charging? Here's What to Do...

Is your phone having a hard time accepting a charge or not taking a charge at all? This is actually a fairly common issue and often times it can be fixed without a repair. Try one of the following for a quick fix:

1. The first thing to do is to try using a different charging cable. Over time these cables give out and need to be replaced. When replacing the charging cord, it is best to stay away from cheap brands as those generally do more harm than good.

2. If replacing the cord didn't fix the issue try using a different USB power adapter. We have come across instances where customers come in and explain that they tried everything to try to get their phone charging to no avail, only to have us boot the phone up right in front of them using our own equipment. As with the charging cables, it is best to stay away from cheap power adapters as they can potentially end up damaging your phone.

3. WARNING: This next step can potentially damage your phone if not done carefully. Proceed at your own risk. Still didn't work? If it's still not working the next thing to try would be to clean the charging port. For this we recommend using either a plastic or wooden toothpick and a small flashlight (optional). With the fine end of the toothpick try to get as much debris out as possible. The debris that has collected over time can obstruct the charging cable from seeding correctly to the port. While doing this, try not to use any force as it could potentially damage your charging port.

4. If none of the above worked, then it's time to bring it in to our repair specialists. You've tried to save a buck but it looks like the issue is more serious than you thought. Our Specialists will find the source of the problem and get you up and running in no time.
